Dr. Will Bawden and Dr. Kathy Kalenchuk will be presenting two short courses at the Seventh International Conference on Deep and High Stress Mining (Deep Mining 2014) in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada in September, 2014.
September 13th & 14th 2014: Practical Rock Mechanics in Underground Mines Course is a two day course that provides mine engineers and ground control personnel with limited practical experience in underground rock mechanics the geomechanical tools required for effective ground control management. Additional course information can be found here.
September 19th 2014: Practical Calibration of numerical Models for Meaningful Predictions of Ground Behaviour is a one day course that will provide participants with the necessary tools for qualitative and quantitative model calibration so that forward simulations of mine plans can provide meaningful predictions of ground response to mining. Additional course information can be found here.
